Plastics Information
My mother recently has become interested in plastics - speciffically how they affect your health. In her research she found that plastics of type 3, 6 and 7 were the bad(dest) of them. Those numbers are listed inside the triangle of arrows logo found on the plastic container or dispenser. Got me wondering what kind of plastics informtaion is out there and how it is valued.
“plastics” is worth 90 cents. The top bidder sells “virgin plastics” and “scrap plastics”. “Virgin plastics” returned no bids, but “scrap plastic” brings in $1.26.
0.20 - plastic regrind - ouch. The bastard search of the plastics industry.
5.00 - platic injection
5.00 - plaastic injection mold - but the bid price tapers less. Higher average.
7.00 - plastic injection molding
one offered PCBA, so I check that out
5.00 - PCBA
0.41 - plastic tooling
0.99 - PVC
PVC linked with cancer? OMG! Let’s follow this train.
1.03 - angiosarcoma
What about sueing people?
2.01 - vinyl chloride
0.11 - vinyl chloride lawsuits - what? that seems pretty low.
0.11 - vinyl chloride injury
0.10 - vinyl chloride litigation
Lame. Not nearly as lucrative as mesothelioma. That sucks for people with PVC related cancer. It looks like lawsuits related to that are not overly lucrative and therefore employers, landlords, etc. are not easy to prosecute.
