Plastics, Aerogel, quantum mechanics, JavaScript, donkey feedbag
The web is abuzz about Aerogel. I like the quote about superlative properties and properties. Like the icing on a delicious cake, superlative properties give Aerogel that mm-mmm goodness. The Wired article describes them fondling the gel and I cringe because perhaps future audiences will read this article with the same if-they-only-knew eyes that we read turn-of-the-century accounts of scientists experimenting with mercury, asbesteos or radium.
Growing Thumbnails. Also a cool JavaScript for images is Lightbox.
On the plastics topic, this super-repellant plastic sounds carcinogen-o-riffic!
More interesting applications of quantum mechanics - The anathema of Einstein!
A pretty sweet casemod that uses an clever principle: The less air there is in an enclosure, the less there is too cool.
“I am not interested in stretched-out pussy that looks like a donkey feedbag.” (WS) Fucking hilarious.
A friend of mine ate this.
